MESSAGES FOR YEAR 12 STUDENTS

Supervised Study
All students who are doing 3 subjects now have two Supervised Study slots on their timetables. These are being re-sent by email over the next couple of days and you are all reminded that these sessions are compulsory – not optional.
You should arrive with work to do and if necessary should refer to: https://stb6th.edublogs.org/students/tips-for-nn-contact/

Attendance
Letters will now be going home for attendance issues. Please contact Mrs Garetty about any absence via phone or email. Reminder that failure to have completed a drop form, but not going to lessons, will create an attendance issue.

EPQ
All students wishing to apply to do an EPQ should come to a half-hour meeting at 12.15 on Wednesday 13th November in the Foyer. Please register with your tutor first then come to the meeting.

MESSAGES FOR YEAR 13 STUDENTS

UCAS deadline was last Tuesday (5th November)

46 Applications have already been sent to UCAS and 29 students have already received offers from Universities. A further 16 have been received and are being processed by the Sixth Form team. They will be sent to UCAS over the next few days

The process you should be following is:
1. update your UCAS form to include any AS grades and to reflect any subjects that you have dropped or picked up since July.
2. complete your personal statement, ask someone at home to check it and then share it via Unifrog with your Tutors. I have asked Tutors to turn away any personal statements that are sent to them via email or on paper. The Unifrog tool is much the most efficient way of managing this process and given the number of students involved, it is important that everyone sticks to this.
3. once your Tutor has approved your personal statement via Unifrog, you should save a copy and then cut and paste it into your UCAS Form.
4. once you have shared shortlists with your Tutor and finalised your choices (up to 5 for everything apart from Medicine) you should enter your final choices on to your UCAS form.
5. complete the blog form at https://stb6th.edublogs.org/ucas/586-2/. This guides you through some final checks and provides us with some information that will help us to check the form. It also places you in a queue so it means that we can manage Forms in the order in which they were sent to us.
6. press pay and send from the UCAS site.
7. keep an eye on email. If there are errors, your form will be bounced back to you for corrections. Please respond quickly. You only need to pay once!

Your predicted grades were shared with you in your reports in July. Unless you have heard otherwise from teachers, these will be pasted by us into your form. Your references are currently being finalised. You are not required to do anything in relation to your reference other than to ensure that the Tutor Reference (written by your Y12 Tutor) reflects the full range of your skills/activities.
