MESSAGES FOR YEAR 12 STUDENTS

Supervised Study
All students who are doing 3 subjects now have two Supervised Study slots on their timetables. These are being re-sent by email over the next couple of days and you are all reminded that these sessions are compulsory – not optional.
You should arrive with work to do and if necessary should refer to: https://stb6th.edublogs.org/students/tips-for-nn-contact/

Drop Forms

We are having unnecessary attendance issues because students haven’t completed and/or handed in their drop forms. Students should not stop going to lessons until they have completed their signed form AND handed it in. See Mrs Garrety for the form and return it to her ASAP please.

MESSAGES FOR YEAR 13 STUDENTS

School Officers and Subject Reps. Please meet in the Robinson Rooms at 12.30 on Tuesday.

EPQ for Y13 in C016 P5 – how to write your lit review and how to reference – meeting AO2. Please bring your current versions.

Supervised Study
Some Y13s will be required to attend Supervised Study sessions. Details will be sent to students via email over the next couple of days.

Library
All Y13/14 are asked to check in with the Library staff at your earliest convenience. The Library need to review the loans of all students and re-assign books to you for the new Academic year. Books taken out by you last year will need to be re-assigned to you this year.

UCAS deadline Tuesday 5th November
All other forms should be completed by Nov 5th. The process you should be following is:
1. update your UCAS form to include any AS grades and to reflect any subjects that you have dropped or picked up since July.
2. complete your personal statement, ask someone at home to check it and then share it via Unifrog with your Tutors. I have asked Tutors to turn away any personal statements that are sent to them via email or on paper. The Unifrog tool is much the most efficient way of managing this process and given the number of students involved, it is important that everyone sticks to this.
3. once your Tutor has approved your personal statement via Unifrog, you should save a copy and then cut and paste it into your UCAS Form.
4. once you have shared shortlists with your Tutor and finalised your choices (up to 5 for everything apart from Medicine) you should enter your final choices on to your UCAS form.
5. complete the blog form at https://stb6th.edublogs.org/ucas/586-2/. This guides you through some final checks and provides us with some information that will help us to check the form. It also places you in a queue so it means that we can manage forms in the order in which they were sent to us.
6. press pay and send from the UCAS site.
7. keep an eye on email. If there are errors, your form will be bounced back to you for corrections. Please respond quickly. You only need to pay once!

Your predicted grades were shared with you in your reports in July. Unless you have heard otherwise from teachers, these will be pasted by us into your form. Your references are currently being finalised. You are not required to do anything in relation to your reference other than to ensure that the Tutor Reference (written by your Y12 Tutor) reflects the full range of your skills/activities.
